That’s where the team at Botanica Real Food steps in, turning thousands of kilograms of fresh produce into a variety of big healthy salads – all from a tiny shop and even smaller kitchen in the leafy suburb of Red Hill in Brisbane. And now also from their second and third locations on Chester St in Teneriffe and Southside at Camp Hill Marketplace

Botanica Real Food’s philosophy stems from the notion that a healthy eating regime consisting of plant-based foods is not a flash in the pan diet, but instead a truly delicious way of life based on eating real food.
The boutique salad bar also serves up a selection of sweets treats for those who want to indulge in something a bit naughty, from cupcakes and bundt cakes to brownies and cookies.
All sweets are gluten-free, made fresh in the Botanica kitchen, with premium ingredients, such as callebaut chocolate, almond meal, real vanilla beans and real fruit.
Botanica Real Food stands by its name – there are no chemicals, no stabilisers, no artificial flavours and no pre-mixes – providing customers with only the freshest and best quality real food ingredients.
Owners, Brett and Alison Hutley, are the husband and wife duo behind the boutique salad bar, which grew from the need to provide a healthy alternative to takeaway meals, without using meat.
Brett and Alison, both qualified chefs, bring to the table a wealth of experience, having cooked privately for some of Australia’s biggest names.
During this time, both Ali and Brett played an important role in influencing healthy eating plans, with some of today’s most popular salads being part of what these celebrities consumed on a daily basis.
The idea for Botanica Real Food was planted in Brett and Alison’s minds, when they returned from travelling and working in Europe and America. Together, they saw an opportunity in the Australian hospitality industry that was being seriously neglected.
The couple attributes the inspiration for Botanica Real Food to the salads they enjoyed in New York, when they decided to consciously eat more vegetarian food. They recall having plenty of options to choose from – everything so fresh, wholesome, and convenient.
It was this experience that encouraged them to recreate something special in their hometown of Brisbane, by drawing upon the inspiration of their travels and their unique skill set.
After searching for months to find the perfect location, everything fell into place and Botanica Real Food opened its doors in early January 2013. Three busy years later Botanica opened it second store in Teneriffe in May 2016. Again when the perfect opportunity presented themselves they opened their third store at Camp Hill Marketplace.
